ONRPEI.ca is a website that began in May of 2011 and has covered Prince Edward Island’s live theatre with a style like no other. We provided performance reviews for just about every show that played and for many it was the morning after opening night. Along the way we established a presence on Twitter YouTube & Facebook with frequently updated news about not only live theatre but great contests, music, cinema, and fundraising events on PEI along with other fun links. After a chance meeting with an actor named Bill McFadden I started out and since then we’ve added a number of great writer’s to help cover all of the great events.
There’s always an interest in people who’d like to submit reviews and comments so send them along and we’d be glad to share them with PEI’s best entertainment audience. Thanks to everyone who’s helped our cause so far we’re so grateful and hope you’ll continue to help ONRPEI.ca thrive in the future! by PL Holden
Meet the panel of writers reviewing shows for ONRPEI!

Margaret Prouse

In the past she was a home economist at the PEI Association of Exhibitions, & food consultant at FoodTrust of PEI. Margaret Attended the University of Guelph.
Cindy Lapena
Cindy Lapeña is a theatre afficionado and writer who has had extensive theatrical experience both on stage and off it. Before she moved to Canada in 2007, she was the Executive Director of Benildanze, a dance company comprised of University-level scholars in the Philippines. She designed costumes, sets, lights, and choreographed for the company. In 2006, as the Chairperson of the Technical Theatre and Production Design Programs at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts, she mentored graduating students through their thesis productions.
She has also acted on stage and in film. She currently teaches part-time at Study Abroad Canada.
Blair Dewar
Blair Dewar is the host of “Homegrown Atlantic”, a show dedicated to the musicians of PEI and Atlantic Canada. Blair resides in Brudenell, PEI and is a member of the East Coast Music Association. He attended Holland College – Prince of Wales Campus, graduating from the Business Management program in 2000 & the Sales & Marketing Management program in 2001. Blair has volunteered with the East Coast Music Awards & Radio ECMA as an on-air announcer.
David Gladstone
David Gladstone is an Islander by choice since 2009 and lives right around the corner from the Montgomery Theatre in North Rustico. He’s a bit of a “foodie” and is really enjoying all that the Island has to offer.
David was instrumental in helping create this website and knows a thing or two about how to give an interesting perspective on just about anything. You’ll be sure to enjoy reading the reviews from this fine English Chap who likes to use the catch phrase: “I am not young enough to know everything.”
Margaret Gladstone
“Margaret and her husband, David, moved to the Island in October 2009. Now retired from the world of corporate communications, Margaret is enjoying life to the full. Living around the corner from the Montgomery Theatre or a short drive into Charlottetown gives great access to great theatre. Writing reviews of the shows is, quite simply, the icing on the cake!”
PL Holden
After taking the challenge from an old actor dude named Bill McFadden in October 2010 I did a lot of research into web design, social media, marketing, and writing. After much trial and error I decided to use WordPress to create ONRPEI.CA.
Along the way I also created a blog called Wish I Were There7, made some great contacts, volunteered for the ECMA awards, got featured in G! Magazine, became a member of the PEI Writer’s Guild, and Twitter administrator for Radio Atlantic. On top of this I also have a couple of jobs that actually pay money and I’m blessed with a beautiful family.
I attended & reviewed many shows on PEI last year, had a blast and learned a lot.
